Valerie’s French heritage fostered her life-long love of the country, its culture and the language itself. Her fond memories of exploring Paris and Marseilles with her family throughout her childhood inspired her to pursue a degree in French Language and Literature from the University of Toronto. Upon graduating, she built her work experience in France, Ontario and Quebec before turning her attention to teaching French as a high school tutor and a French conversation circle host. Valerie believes exposing children to a second (or more) language at a young age is good for language development, cognitive and emotional development. Her knowledge of French has enriched her personal and professional life and she enjoys any opportunity she has to introduce the language to children and get them started on a road to language learning!
